Cubitts Eye-Wear

Cubitts, a spectacles company dedicated to changing a 300 year old glasses industry in need of modernisation, approached us to help them create a better employee experiences for all their people. Since two thirds of the population wear spectacles and half wear them every day, it’s crucial that Cubitts is inclusive to all. This starts by building an inclusive employee experience that not only meets the needs of the team, but future talent too.

We supported Cubitts through a discovery process to map their ‘as-is’ state through both an intersectional outside-in and inside-out perspective. This created an in-depth understanding of pain points and opportunities in the employee lifecycle. Through these insights, we co-created ideas on how to create more inclusion and equity within their talent attraction process, employee branding, career framework and the company culture.

Cubitts now has a roadmap of future ‘to-be’ inclusive practices spanning throughout the entire employee lifecycle to implement, and the Utopia team are on hand to support. By working with the entire People team, DEI team and even CEO and Founder Tom Broughton, a legacy of senior level buy-in has been left that paves the way for continuous improvement.

Utopia has definitely opened our eyes to things we couldn't see and we've come away with so many great ideas that we can implement to help us become a more inclusive employer.”
