Our team at Utopia are Change Makers and Enablers focused on building purposeful, inclusive and entrepreneurial cultures. We believe in the power of community and draw on our specialist global Utopians to agilely scale up and down when needed.

    Viv Ahmun

    CO-CHAIR

    Viv Ahmun’s core expertise is in social policy and European law. This has allowed him to also work across several parts of the UK Government, such as the Home Office, and as an advisor to the London Mayor's Office. He's a successful entrepreneur and businessman with companies in Germany and East Africa, who uses ‘systems thinking’ to achieve success. Viv is passionate about climate justice, ethical technology and ethical investment in Africa. His Future Boss incubator programme invests £100,000 in new founders every year.

    Andy De Groose

    PARTNER

    Andy joins Utopia as Partner, responsible for Finance and Operations. Andy has a strong track record building digital businesses, leading creative agencies and designing bespoke tech solutions for clients. He’s also a mentor and NED for several creative start-ups and Co-Founder of Brilliant Misfits, an organisation wanting to support people making a difference in the world. Not afraid to tread the path less travelled, Andy’s also been a stay-at-home-dad, co-built a pub and founded Dulwich Gin, a boutique gin brand!

    Tolu Farinto

    PARTNER

    As well as leading Ethnicity and Social Mobility work at Utopia, Tolu co-founded The Great British Diversity Experiment, and is a key advisor to the flagship Black Men for Change initiative: a strategic pan-London platform, funded by the Mayor of London to combat structural inequality. He’s also the founder of Limitless, a social purpose music platform with an annual event each year at The Roundhouse, London. Limitless is designed to support and nurture under-represented talent in getting access to opportunities within a variety of industries, increasing representation and diversity.

    Tina Fiandaca

    CHANGE-ENABLER

    Tina spent the last 20 years as a People & Culture Director before joining Utopia as a Change-Enabler. Tina supports culture change at a strategic level working within the HR team. She’s also a counsellor in training, a volunteer counsellor for Childline and MHFA Mental Health First Aider.

    Jan Gooding

    CO-CHAIR

    Jan is one of the UK’s most experienced marketing leaders, working with companies like BT, British Gas, Diageo and Unilever. Most latterly they were Aviva’s first Global Inclusion Director and has been Chair of Stonewall. Jan now has a portfolio of interests including Executive Coach and Non-Executive Chair of Given, PAMCo and Utopia. She’s now on the Chartered Marketing Institute’s Race Equity Committee, a Fellow of the IPA and an Honorary Fellow of the Marketing Society and Market Research Society. In 2022, she was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for services to human rights and social justice.

    Emma Love

    HEAD OF PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT / CHANGE-ENABLER

    Emma spent over a decade working in production roles across advertising, television and film. She’s worked across award-winning content, global campaigns and helped shape and build the creative operations of many organisations including Google, Mars, BBC and Omnicom Media Group.

    She’s also part of the core team at POCC, an organisation of transformation, championing change through creativity, activism and non-traditional means.

    Suzy McCafferty

    CHANGE-MAKER

    Suzy has been working within social equality for around ten years but, after a life-changing event in 2017, her perspective shifted towards helping people live more authentic and joyous lives. Suzy set up Radical Joy, an online community which advocates for authenticity and the importance of mental health role models. She also studies Positive Psychology and is looking forward to implementing her learning from her new ventures at Utopia. Suzy leads our Mental Health and Wellbeing practice.

    Nadya Powell

    FOUNDING PARTNER

    Nadya created Utopia following her own traumatic experiences which fuels her passion for DEI.

    Nadya started her career in Digital Agencies like Grey Interactive and Dare. In 2012 she co-founded Millennial Mentoring - an initiative to link established leaders with aspirational talent; The Great British Diversity Experiment - a social experiment proving the link between creativity and diversity; and The So White Project - an initiative to reverse the lack of diversity in commercial photography.

    She’s also a contributing author of Creative Superpowers, on the advisory board of London Philharmonic Orchestra, sits on the WACL executive team and a proud parent to 2 teenage girls, 3 cats and 2 rabbits.

    Louise Roberts

    Having worked for too many years in client facing roles in the Telecoms world, in 2017 Louise decided it was time for a change and joined Utopia. Learning new skills every day, Louise is currently planning team retreats, organising events, researching and generally organising Nadya with everything they need.

    Miren is a Chartered Management Accountant heading up the Finance Function at Utopia. He brings a wealth of experience from working for a number of years in accounting, financial management and business advisory roles across a variety of positions in many different and varied industries. He has a passion for working with businesses and entrepreneurs who are actively changing and positively impacting how we work, the world we create, and what we consume.
